SUMMARY:7SHIELD Pilot Demonstration within the ICE Cubes Services in Brussels Area\, Belgium
DESCRIPTION:The 13th of December 2022\, Space Applications Services  hosted the third and last demonstration of the 7SHIELD project. \nThe demonstration has the objective to evaluate the effectiveness of the innovative technologies and the robustness of the 7SHIELD platform and its modules as applied to the ICE Cubes service. The demonstration focused on cyber security scenarios. The 7SHIELD demonstration covered all the phases of the cyber security\, including the prevention phase\, the detection of attacks\, their responses and mitigations. The demonstration scenario involved the latest ICE Cubes asset\, the AI-BOX\, an experiment cube deployed in the ISS to provide GPU and Machine Learning capabilities at the edge\, onboard the ISS. This is a multi-tenant environment accessible by multiple end-users. The 7SHIELD project has demonstrated its secured execution environment at the edge\, securing an AI-BOX engineering model\, and demonstrated the overall improvements in the cyber security posture that can be brought to the ICE Cubes service\, both at the edge in the ISS and for the core components of the ICE Cubes ground segment. \n \nLocation: \nSpace Applications Services NV/SA\nLeuvensesteenweg 325\n1932 Zaventem\nBelgium\n+32 (0)2 721 54 84 \nSchedule: \n\n\n\n09:30\nArrival of the participants\n\n\n10:00\nIntroduction of the ICE Cubes service and tour of the facilities\n\n\n11:00\nScenario 1: Cyber Risks Prevention \nThe demonstration scenario focuses on the prevention phase\, including risks assessment\, cascading effect analyses applied to the ICE Cube service.\n\n\n12:00\nLunch Break\n\n\n13:00\nScenario 2: Detection and Prevention at the Edge \nThe demonstration scenario will involve the deployment of 7SHIELD detection and prevention module on an engineering model of latest ICE Cubes asset\, the AI-BOX\, an experiment cube deployed in the ISS. This is a multi-tenant environment accessible by multiple end-users\, providing computation power for AI applications at the edge. \n \n\n\n15:00\nScenario 3: DoS attack on the ICE Cubes external Telemetry server \nThe third scenario will simulate a malicious behavior of end-users attempting to disrupt the activity of the ICE Cubes ground segment through the execution of DoS attacks targeted on specific services. DESCRIPTION:The 7SHIELD Info Day took place on 14 December 2022 in Brussels\, Belgium\, with a hybrid format (in presence\, at Hôtel Bedford\, and online).   \nThe objectives of the event were to describe the achievements of the project\, show the results that were obtained in real conditions through the five Space Ground Segments acting as Pilot Use Cases\, and raise the interest in the value and exportability of the 7SHIELD system in different contexts.  \nWith these goals in mind\, the agenda of the Info Day was purposely conceived as a series of interactive sessions requiring the active involvement of participants and allowing intercommunication among the attendees.
